Fishing on Carters Lake
Carters Lake is one of Georgia's premier lakes for catching big spotted bass. At certain times of the year, I will run many trips on this lake chasing +5lb spotted bass. The numbers of 3-4lb bass in the lake is strong 12 months a year and the numbers overall are good since Carter's doesn't receive the fishing pressure as some of its bigger cousins.
Carters is a beautiful mountain lake with no private boat docks. There a small marina, and that is about it. Camp sites surround the area, and this is a great lake to fish on if you and your family are looking for a mountain get away with some fishing entertainment in the mix.
The Damsite Ramp is known for their VERY strict parking enforcement. Vehicles without trailers must park in specially designated areas and there aren't many spaces available. Also be sure your tire isn't touching the white line between spaces, and if you park there without purchasing a parking pass, you can pretty well bet on getting a fine. But its no big deal --obey the rules and you'll be ok.
